Registration numbers and ticket number confusion

Hi there, we have noticed an issue popping up in the User Integration side of things. We have an event where someone has registered 3 times and chosen 3 tickets each time (so total 9 tickets).

But on their event user profile, it says ‘# of tickets’ as 3 (instead of 9). Then when I open it up (click the gear icon), you can see only 3 tickets listed. When clicking on the ‘Edit registration details’ icon, there you will see info for 3 separate people. So it seems the Tickets section is actually showing ‘Registrations’ and not all the tickets.

However, for some events it shows every single ticket. We’re not sure why this event (and a couple others), are showing the registration totals and not the total ticket numbers. We need to always show every ticket in the ticket list.

Any info or help would be great, thanks.

Hi there,

The user integration add-on will only show the registrations that are linked with the users EE contact, meaning the registrations that have the same first name, last name and email address as the contact when the registrations were created.

So in this case:

But on their event user profile, it says ‘# of tickets’ as 3 (instead of 9).

Are the 3 registrations that show up the registrations that match the uses record but the others not?

So it seems the Tickets section is actually showing ‘Registrations’ and not all the tickets.

There’s a 1-1 relationship between a registration and a ticket so I’m not sure what this means, can you explain further please?

Thanks for responding. The same user (logged in), made 3 separate transactions for the same event. Each time they purchased 3 tickets and entered information for each ticket. This should add up to 9 tickets as you mentioned (1-1 relationship), however for some reason it’s not happening for a couple events.

It says 3 tickets in the event list (http://pasteboard.co/4W0BGbHGF.png), and then when it is expanded, there is a list of 3 tickets (http://pasteboard.co/4W1iiBbfx.png), but there should be 9 there.

When I click on the edit registrations icon for each one of those 3 items, I can see the details for 3 people registered (3 registrations x 3 people for each registration, should equal 9 tickets).

It is a bit confusing I know. Is there anyway to allow access to see for yourself?

Thanks for the help.

Thank you,

So when you click to view the registration details for each of those registrations you see 3 registrations each time right, but note that the additional 2 registrations on each of those sections do not have the same contact details, it’s the User themselves plus 2 other people.

They all have the same email address, but the contacts themselves are different.

The My Events section shows registrations for your contact which is why it’s pulling in 3 registrations, it’s the registrations that match the current user EE contact. The edit registrations link shows all 3 because it’s a group registration and the user is the primary registrant.

In short what you’re expecting the ‘My events’ section to output is not how it is currently expected to work, however another user asked for something similar here:

https://eventespresso.com/topic/ee4-show-all-datetimestickets-user-registered-for-on-espresso_my_events/

And I created a custom template for the add-on that may do what you are looking for:

https://gist.github.com/Pebblo/54707c59d09185e16e1e15f35ba3765c#file-content-espresso_my_events-event_section-template-php

You’ll need to fully test this to confirm it does what you need it to, to do that you will need to create a content-espresso_my_events-event_section.template.php file with the contents of that gist and then place that template file within your themes root directory to use it.

Then view the My Event section again and confirm it shows all of the registrations you are expecting.

Thank you. Just FYI, this worked perfectly!
