Have had almost a dozen failures this week on the Chrome browser.

Hi there,
The issue you’re seeing isn’t exclusive to the Chrome browser and is caused by the NextGEN gallery plugin deleting the registration session data. We’ve tried to explain the issue to the NextGEN plugin’s developers but so far they haven’t taken the issue seriously.
Until they do take this seriously, you can deactivate the feature in the NextGEN gallery plugin that’s deleting the form data by following the documentation here:

You add to the file just before it says:

Josh,
Just got another report of ” data could not be applied to any valid registration.”
I’ve confirmed the “define(‘NGG_CRON_ENABLED’, FALSE);” is still in place. Any other thoughts?

You should check for any left over scheduled tasks from NextGEN gallery by installing the WP Crontrol plugin, then you go to Tools > Cron Events.
Then on the WP-Cron Events, look for a hook name:
ngg_delete_expired_transients
If you see any rows with that hook name you can delete them.
