I wonder if there is a way to replace an event ticket selector with a registration form, just in case I’m interested to register users interest (name and email) to attend an event well in advance I decide to activate the booking tickets for that event.

Hi,

Here’s what’s available:

When you set up an event, you set the option “Maximum number of tickets allowed per order for this event:” to 1. Then, when you set the ticket price for the one ticket, you set the price to 0.

When you publish the event, you’ll note there will be no ticket selector. In its place will be a simple button. When the user clicks the button, they’ll be redirected to the registration form.

But the button that appears after following your instructions, it’s the “add to cart” button, not a registration form. Is there a way to customize the button to redirect to a regsitration form?

The add to cart button is used when you have the multi-event registration add-on enabled, if I understand correctly it sounds like you don’t want that functionality so need to de-activate that add-on.

I’d like to replace the add to cart button in a specific event, to show a button to a registration form instead. However, I cannot disconnect the multi-event registration since this is working with other events.

That’s correct. If the multi-event registration plugin is activated, it’s not possible to show a button to a registration form instead.

ok, I undertstand. Any other way to then hide the ticket selector and show a registration form instead?

Not currently.

You need to submit the ticket submission through the ticket selector for the single page checkout module to build out the registration form, so there’s no way to build out the registration form, without the ticket submission.

I want to use the registration form to receive users interest in one event in a pre-launch stage of the event.

Hi,

It’s not actually possible to use the Event Espresso registration form in place of the Ticket Selector. This is because, as Tony mentioned, the Ticket Selector gives the Registration Form page the information it needs to build out its form(s).

What you could do instead is set the “Display Ticket Selector” option to No, then embed a Contact form into the Event’s Description field. Most Contact form plugins use shortcodes, and the shortcode could be placed into the event’s description field.
