Dear Support, we have cases where subscribers registered for events they could not see and register for. How could it happen? Thanks in advance. Best Regards, |
Hi Alex, How are you ‘hiding’ events? That is not a feature of Event Espresso so we’ll need more details of your setup. |

|
We do it by using a menu plugin Nav Menu Roles and restrict menu items for Contributors, Subscribers and so on. Best Regards, |
In that case there is nothing stopping the user from navigating to /events/ on your site and finding the event there? |

You’re right. That’s true. User can navigate to /events/ but nobody knows it. I tested it without logon. I tried to register but need to register for an event but couldn’t do it because I was reditrected to registration for the website. Best Regards, |
Thats just one example, if they search for events they will still show up on your site, but the point being is your events do not require something specific to register, they are ‘sort of hidden’ but there’s nothing actually preventing registrations. Correct?
Ok, but in your initial reply you said subscribers are registering, so they were already registered? |

We provided events for Contributors which Subscribers should not see and register for. Best Regards, |
You’re going to need to do more than just hide events from the site navigation in order to restrict registration for the event. One way to restrict registration for specific events is you can install the WP User Integration add-on, and set the ticket options to require a specific WordPress user capability. There’s more information in the documentation about how to set that up: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/wp-user-integration/#ee4usage |
