Hi there,

We searched through the forum and here is what we tried:
– wp mail smtp plugin – sent test email and it did not arrive
– mandrill plugin – sent test email still nothing
– we have mail log installed so we see emails being sent, but they never arrive in inbox or junk.
– tried to disable plugins in case of conflict – didn’t fix it

Please advise.

Hi there Kat,

Email delivery issues can definitely be frustrating. I want to assure you that Event Espresso does not have any restrictions on the email addresses that emails can be sent to.

That is, a notification email to an live.com or aol.com or gmail.com or another domain should all work.

Could you try sending a test email through the Mandrill settings area which looks like this?

Is that received to the hotmail account?

Tried that and still not receiving. Tried to send direct mail and that works. So definitely email delivery doesn’t work only through the website. I tried to find contact info for hotmail but couldn’t find any.

Hello Kat,

Have you checked your Mandill account error logs to see where the emails are bouncing?

Also, you may want to try installing a mail logging plugin, such as WP Mail Logging to make sure that emails are being sent from your WP install.

Once that is installed, please try retesting sending your emails to see if they are actually being sent.

Please let us know what you find out.

I reinstalled Mandrill pluging and generated new API key. Now it works. Emails get placed in the Junk folder though. Any work around that?

Thank you for your patience and help.

Hi Kat,

Here’s an article that explains why some of the major email providers will place email in the junk or spam folders, and what you can do to help ensure future emails are delivered to the inbox instead:

Thank you. I’ll look over it and make some modifications.
