Hello,

A few questions about a registration:

-Person registered and transaction is noted as complete. I confirmed payment went through with authorize.net. However, on backend instead of approved, he is listed as pending payment. Also, he did not show up on our front-end website registration list. Why is this and how to fix it? His email is below:

Hi KIROS,

Nothing serious, but I thought I’d let you know that I had a little trouble with this registration. Your web site hung up, froze, and wouldn’t complete the transaction. The little rotating ball indicated that it was thinking about things, but it never came back to continue working. I finally gave up and closed out the page. But I got this confirmation, and my credit card shows the charge. So that part worked. But I noticed today that my name isn’t in the list of attendees. So apparently that part of the transaction didn’t happen. It doesn’t matter to me to be on the published list. Just thought you might be interested in the workings of your site.

Hi Kiros,

The little rotating ball indicated that it was thinking about things, but it never came back to continue working.

This usually means an error was thrown during the ajax request so EE did not know what to do with the response and hangs. If you take a look within your servers error logs at the same time the registration/transactions was created is there an error relating to Event Espresso?

Also, he did not show up on our front-end website registration list. Why is this and how to fix it?

Which shortcode are you using for the front-end list?

It is likely because the registration status is pending payment, if you switch that to Approved he should show up on the list.

View the registration and click the ‘Approved’ status button at the top – http://take.ms/nCoAd

Also if you view the transaction (click the ‘View Transaction’ button), click the link to view the addition session details – http://take.ms/yIxU2

Are all of those steps complete?

Yes, all steps are complete in transaction. Where do I view server error logs? Why do these errors occur?

Where do I view server error logs?

It depends on your server setup.

Some servers allow you to view the error logs within a control panel that you log into, others simply save the error to an error.log file (or similar) within a directory on the site.

I would recommend contacting your host to have them direct you to the best way to view the error logs.

Why do these errors occur?

They can happen for lots of reasons, memory exhausted errors for example if your site runs out of memory. Timeout errors error if the server is under load and taking longer than expected.

We would need to see the error to be able to provide more details.

Did you set the registration to Approved? If so did the registration show on the front end lists?
