When I go back to look at my registrants registration form answers there are some answers that they definitely answered missing. Please see how the email address is missing from the screenshot. Also it is showing questions that are no longer being asked like “young artists: day/time.”

Please help.

Hello,

You can change the questions that display on the registration record if you change the questions themselves, or change the questions in a question group.

So, if you have made changes to the questions or the question groups since the registration record was created, then the questions may change.

Hmmm…I don’t understand this. I don’t want to change the questions or the question groups. They are exactly how I want them when I go to register for an event. It is only on this backend that it is showing old questions that are no longer even in my questions or question groups.

Also you did not answer the biggest question which was why are some of my customer’s answers not showing?

Are the questions of the answers you are looking for included in the current question group(s)?

Also, is the event configured to ask the questions in the question group?

custom questions event editor

IF the questions have been removed from the question group(s) and the event editor does not have those question group(s) selected, then the questions and answers will not appear on the registration record.

Does that help?

No. That does not help. I don’t think you are understanding.

I have my questions and my question groups set up exactly how I want them. I also have them selected within the event that I am wanting the questions asked.

Despite all the correct settings:

After a customer answers the questions in the registration form for the event, the answers are not showing up in the backend. See screen shot above.

Several questions then:

– When was this registration created? Was it before or after making any changes to the questions, question group settings, or question assignment in the event editor?
– Does this happen on other registrations for this event or just this one?
– How was that registration created (manually or through the front-end by the attendee)?
– Does this continue to happen for registrations you get today (like if you were going to test one)?

The registrations were created after making any changes to the questions, question groups, or question assignments.

-All events seem to have this issue.

-It happens on both front end and manual transactions

-All registrations were made between yesterday and today. It continues to happen.

I’m not able to reproduce this so we’ll have to take a look at your site. Will you send login credentials through this form please? https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

Hi Cindra,

I took a look and there are a few issues with a few of the questions you have set up that need to be resolved first.

Issue #1: The question with the name “Email” that has the Admin Label “email” and ID 19 is in the trash, but there are registrations in the system that are using that question. You can restore this question out of the trash to resolve issue #1.

Issue #2: Several of the questions have identical Admin Labels. These include

Name(32) and Emergency Contact(15) -> both have “name” set as their admin label. You can set one of these to use a different admin label, and it might make the most sense to set Emergency Contact’s admin label to be something like emergency-contact.

Cell Phone Number(33) and Emergency Phone Number(16) -> both have “phone-number” set as their admin label. You can prefix the latter’s label with emergency to make its label unique.

Ok. So I fixed Issue #2 by changing the admin labels.

But restoring the email question makes two email questions on my registration forms which I do not want!

You can remove the unwanted email question by removing it from the question groups it’s been assigned to. This is done by unchecking the box in the question group editor, then you update/save the question group you edit.

From what I can tell, all the questions I want deleted permanently like email address and the others in the trash are removed from the question groups.

But what is the weirdest…is that I just restored it…went to register…did not fill in the newly restored but did fill in the required email address I want used and somehow in the contact details the email is showing up now but only in the non-required email address slot. See screen shot.

It will only let you trash and delete questions if it’s safe to do so. Otherwise existing relationships between questions, answers, and question groups can break. The questions in the trash that have the padlocks next to them therefore cannot be permanently deleted. Sorry.

I figured that. But why won’t it let me delete the ones without the lock? please read error at top of screen shot.

I did read the error, the reason it will not let you permanently delete the questions is because they are assigned to at least one question group. Can you double check the question groups (even the question groups that are in the trash), and make sure that the question groups do not have the questions that you’re trying to delete?

Matt & Cindra McCoy

I did that again and again. They are not checked in the question groups. And before I was getting the error that I needed to uncheck them. Now the error is different that is why I thought you would have a different solution.

Hi Cindra,

I looked into this as you sent me login details from another thread. This looks like a bug when attempting to perm delete ‘option’ based questions such as dropdown, checkbox or radio questions.

I have created a ticket for our developers to investigate this and will update this thread with any news.
