When we do a refund for a booking in EE the refund is actioned in the booking system but the refund does not carry on to Stripe and de refunded on the customers card.
Is it not possible to allow the refund in the booking system to be refunded on the customers card, via Stripe??
Not currently no, the refund in Event Espresso is there to keep a record but to actually refund the card itself you’ll need to do so through the Stripe dashboard.
We do have a ticket to investigate initializing the refund from within Event Espresso itself. However, one issue with doing so is some providers allow us to do so via a specific refund request, others allow us to do so in a convoluted way loading up an iframe to essentially log into the merchant’s site and some don’t allow it at all without logging-in directly so it’s pretty inconsistent.
Stripe is one of the ones that allow you to refund using a refund request but we don’t have any functionality built into Event Espresso to create/capture those requests currently.
Ah OK. I know it can be done as Woocommerce does refund direct to the Stripe account, so hopefully in time you will get there.
