Re-sending messages after template customisation uses old version of template?

Hi there

I’m working through customising our message templates but notice that if I re-queue and re-send a previously sent message, it uses the template that was used when the message was originally sent?

That is, it doesn’t pick up changes made in the template after the message was initially sent?

Many thanks

Hi there,

Which version number of EE4 are you using?

Are you editing the global templates or creating custom templates? If custom templates have you assigned the custom template to the event within:

Event Espresso -> Events -> {event} -> Notifications.

Thanks Tony. Turns out I’d actually created a custom message template for the “payment received” message when I was first tinkering with EE and forgot it was still in effect. So it’s been sitting there overriding my global customisations.

Sorry to have wasted your time! All clear now.

That’s not wasting my time 🙂

That’s one issue with custom messages, they are created based on the current global template in use at the time and show no difference in the actual email at that time (which is intended) so its really easy to forget they are in use when viewing the email itself.

Anyway, I’m glad you found the problem.

Any further issues please let us know.
