Quickbooks connection ticket & app id

I am having trouble getting the Quickbooks gateway to work properly.

– I have a current merchant account
– The Web Store is enabled.
– I am unable to login with Quickbooks using the link provided within Event Espresso when trying to retrieve a connection ticket:
https://merchantaccount.ptc.quickbooks.com/j/sdkconnection?appid=245799785&sessionEnabled=false

– I am able to login using a link I found on some other message forum:
https://paymentslogin.quickbooks.com/j/qbn/auth/employee/login-auth?url=https://merchantaccount.quickbooks.com/j/sdkconnection?appid=679873720

Two questions I have:
– Is the App ID unique to Event Espresso or the individual merchant’s site?
– Is the URL for the link provided by Event Espresso incorrect? The initial link is eventually redirected to the https://paymentslogin.ptc.quickbooks.com site (complete redirect is https://paymentslogin.ptc.quickbooks.com/j/qbn/auth/employee/login-auth?url=https://merchantaccount.ptc.quickbooks.com/j/sdkconnection?appid=245799785&sessionEnabled=false)

I got a connection ticket using the 679873720 app id, but I am not able to process credit cards with it.

I apologize for my ignorance. I have never dealt with Quickbooks before. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Hi Eric,

We only have a developer account which uses a different login, but as far as we are aware the link still goes to the correct page for logins.

The App ID should be unique to the plugin.

Is there an error showing when you try to make a payment? Is this using live or test credentials?

Is the app id the same for all Event Espresso plugin users or is a unique id created for each individual user?

Yes. I am getting an error that says “2000: Application agent not found SDK-TGT-206-NzUG2L16_m1I_3DuI6w$2Q” using test credentials….and I assume that checking the “Use PTC (Development) Server” option runs the processing in test mode. Based on what I found, that appears to be caused by an invalid connection ticket. I tried regenerating the connection ticket, but received the same error. I spent over an hour on the phone with someone from Quickbooks that appeared to know very little about the topic.

As mentioned before, I can’t log in using the link provided in the Event Espresso Payment Settings for Quickbooks. The connection ticket I received was using a link I found online.

Hi Eric,

Could you try the registration process one more time? Please click on this link:

http://support.quickbooks.intuit.com/support/articles/HOW18927

Then click on

2. Create an Intuit Partner Platform account

…and follow the steps through step 4. Step 1 isn’t needed since you have an existing merchant account.

I appreciate your reply. I followed all those steps….created a new app ID and connection ticket. Was optimistic about the who process until I came up with the same error (“Transaction Failed 2000: Application agent not found”) while using Quicken’s PTC development server and a test credit card number.

A couple items I am wondering about:
– I noticed that I currently am not using https for the page where I am entering the credit card number. Could that be causing any issues with the PTC development server? Wasn’t worried about https for now since I am only in the testing phase.

– While I entered the App ID in the URL in step 4 on the page you sent me a link for, I was never asked for my App Login. Is that supposed to entered somewhere?

– An observation: If I turn off the PTC development server box in the payment settings for Event Espresso, the error changes to “Transaction Failed 2040: Authorization Error” when supplying a test credit card number.

– I tried creating a new connection ticket, especially after selecting/deselecting the PTC server option.

Think they should add a 5th step on the instruction page you sent me: “Throw computer out window to ease frustration. After screaming and anger towards Quicken has subsided, pick up what is left of your computer and attempt to repeat steps 1-5.” I was hoping this process would be MUCH easier.

Hi,

Intuit uses separate accounts for live mode and test mode.
