Promotions Settings not Sticking

Hi there,

I have set the Promotions Affect Taxes setting to Yes, so that the promotions we created will include taxes as well. Unfortunately, this isn’t sticking and we keep having issues of it changing and charging the users for the taxes – it is not taking 100% of the price off while affecting the taxes as well.

Any help is appreciated!

Hi there,

You’ve mentioned the option isn’t sticking, is that all the time?

Meaning when you set the option in the promotions setting to Yes and hit save, it’s not saving then?

Or it randomly switches back to No and the next time you apply a promotion it still charges them taxes?

Is the promotion being applied via the admin or frontend?

Hi there,

It’s most of the time. When we change the Promotion setting to Yes and hit save, it saves, but does not work all of the time. It is still charging users taxes, but not all users from what I have been told by our client.

These promotions are being applied by both admin and on the frontend, depending on the situation. Does this affect the promotions add-on?

Sorry, I don’t follow.

Is the option reverting back to No and your having to re-set it back to Yes often for it to work again?

It shouldn’t do no but I’m just trying to work out how you are using them so I can try to reproduce.

Hi there!

So the client hasn’t told us that this is happening for all of the users. Which is why I am saying most of the time, it is working.

We are having to go in and reset it to Yes all the time. It is reverting back to No.

So it sounds like your promotions config is resetting, meaning it will be working when the config has the option for Promos to affect taxes saved as yes, but then it resets and the next registrations added use a value of no etc until the config is manually updated again and the option saved as yes.

I’ve not seen that happen before and can’t think of a reason as to why, I’ll check in with our developers and see if they can provide an feedback on this.
