I am having trouble with the promotions and discount code add on. The Valid from and the valid till fields will not allow me to add in dates…

To add to my just posted question there are some red letter paragraphs on the edit promotion page. Not sure if this is part of the problem?
Under the scope applied to section there is this notice in red:

“Please note that this promotion’s Scope selector has been disabled because it has been redeemed at least once. This is done to maintain accounting accuracy.”

Then there is a promo applied to all scope items that can be checked yes or no. I tried both ways…

Under the right hand column where I can select what events the promotion is applied to there is this message in red:

“Please note that any scope items in the box above that have had promotions redeemed, will have their checkboxes greyed out and can not be deselected. Any scope items that have not had any promotions redeemed can be deselected. This is done to maintain accounting accuracy.”

Not sure if the above helps…

Hi there,

May I ask does a calendar open up to allow you to select dates when you click on the Valid From and Valid Until fields? If there’s no calendar, then another plugin or theme function may be interfering with the scripts that add the calendar there.

there is a calendar icon there. But the calendar icon does not open.

The calendar icon doesn’t actually open anything, but if you click on the input field itself (before the icon) there should be a calendar that lets you pick a date. If there’s no calendar, then that’s a good indication there’s another plugin on your website (or a theme function) that’s breaking the calendar input.

So I see what i was doing wrong. I was clicking on the calendar icon expecting it to open up. When I just put my cursor into the field the calendar opened up and it appears to be working now. Silly mistake on my part.

I have another question.

My understanding from the documentation found here https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-promotions-add-on/ is that scope can only be set to events. What should the “Apply Promo to ALL Scope Items” be set at?

If you want a promotion to apply to all events, you can set “Apply Promo to All Scope items” to Yes.

If you want a promotion to apply to only selected events, you set “Apply Promo to All Scope items” to No. Then you check the boxes next to the events in the list in the right column to select the events.
