Hi
We need to have the facility for Promotional Code discount to be applied to the Total cart rather than per event – how can we do this now please as the link to Volume Discount did not work and it does not seem to be in the Add Ons?

The volume discount addon is available from the prerelease channel. That needs to be enabled before you can download the file:

Yes all the Promo Codes are Global but this seems to be of no help. The problem is that we have multi-events so someone has just booked 8 different workshops and instead of getting a £5 discount on the total which is what happened last year they got a £40 discount! I have since read that the promotional codes apply per event and not to the Total since a recent upgrade but surely is there not a way round this? Why was this changed?
It’s too late for this year as we will have to cancel the Promo Codes and explain to Users but it does mean that next year the client will want to use another system I have been told!

Hi Francis,
Yes the promo codes now deduct from the ticket price rather than per cart. This has been in place for 8-12 months or so.
As to why? Well it was a developer decision due to various different reasons. We are looking to create a new promo code system for EE4 that will hopefully include per ticket and per event discounts.

OK I quite understand but frustrated and my fault for not checking from last year’s set up!
Would the Volume Discount be a possible way round for our use? We have 5 promo codes in circulation that offer £5 discount off the Cart total – our Festival has a range of small workshops etc. so some people might buy 4 or 5 tickets at one go.

Hi,
I do understand, I think the cart discount was needed, but as mentioned various reasons went into it’s removal.
The Volume Discount ad don could indeed be used to discount a flat fee off the cart total http://take.ms/J9Fu2
The volume discount will work without promo codes though, so anyone that buys X number of tickets would get the discount.
