I’m very interested in EE and I like the option to scan tickets at the door as well as a lot of the functionality. I’m trying to find one solution that can do most of what I would like. Questions I haven’t been able to figure out?

If you have a one-off event, ie. a private tour, can you invoice/record in system without it being visible to public?

Do you have time slots to offer events at different times during the day?

How do affiliate programs run – do they work with another WP plug-in?

I need gift certificates – can I run a gift certificate plug-in alongside EE?

Do you support World Pay payment gateway – if not, again can I run a plug-in to link with yourselves?

I saw someone had problems with having to manually enter coupon/discount codes for each event – I had software with this same problem and it was a pain – is this still the case.

Just a thought – In looking at the questions people raise in the forum, you block out your replies to paying customers. If they were open people could see how good your customer service replies are and learn more about the product – as they are closed, people interested in EE can now only see the negative problems and not the solutions,

Hi abigail,

If you have a one-off event, ie. a private tour, can you invoice/record in system without it being visible to public?

Whilst currently we do not offer ‘private’ events. We have an option to make the event a Waitlist event. Technically this is intended as an overflow for another event but in effect what this setting does is remove the event from public view. The event is visible from the admin and is still publicly accessible if you have the events URL but it will not be displayed within the Event List’s or Calendar on your site.

Do you have time slots to offer events at different times during the day?

Yes and No. We have time slots for events but currently the attendee list is shared for the entire event. Meaning if you have 3 time slots with an attendee limit of 12 (intended as 4 per time slot) then all 12 people could actually book on a single time slot.

*We have an experimental feature which allow registration limits per time slot, effectively providing the above but this has issues with multiple registrations. It is currently being worked on.

How do affiliate programs run – do they work with another WP plug-in?

Currently Event Espresso does not support any affiliate programs. There are options but none that we support ourselves unfortunately.

I need gift certificates – can I run a gift certificate plug-in alongside EE?

Again its possible but not something we have in place currently with Event Espresso 3.X there are different workaround but to say fully functioning Gift Certificates would be incorrect. It is possible to create 100% discount codes which can be used once and then become invalid although these codes would need to be manually created and then sold via another method (e-commerce plugin etc)

Do you support World Pay payment gateway – if not, again can I run a plug-in to link with yourselves?

We do support World Pay, for a full list of our support gateways you can visit https://eventespresso.com/features/payment-options/

I saw someone had problems with having to manually enter coupon/discount codes for each event – I had software with this same problem and it was a pain – is this still the case.

With the latest version of Event Espresso the Promo Codes feature was re-written to allow the use of ‘Global’ promo codes. You can assign a Promo code as Global and set your Event to allow ‘Global Promo Codes’, this allows the event to use any Promo code that has been set as a global code. You can also assign specific events Global codes + extra codes (non-globals) or allow ALL promo codes on an event.

Thank you for your feedback regarding the support area, whilst I can not comment I have relayed your feedback onwards 🙂

Thank you so much for your super quick reply. I’m still struggling to choose an event ticketing system – can i add a gift certificate and affiliate plug in for now from word press. Not your functionality but as a work around? Would this work with your system – adding in word press plug ins?!

Whilst it is possible. It is not straight forward.

Affiliates yes, its basically just adding some tracking code into a page.

Gift certificates is more complicated. I would not like to say you can build a Gift Certificate system without a developer. In fact I would say without custom development this is a no go. (It is possible, but plenty of admin and very manual)

Thank yo. I don’t mind manual as don’t expect it to be used often, just really nice to have the feature.

Last questions – if I purchase your package, can I ask for a refund if the lack of these features become problematic as I implement it, ie. within first days of testing?

Do you have contacts for developers that can add these features in the future – is it possible, not too pricey to custom added my required features?

Hi Abigail,

Our refunds policy is outlined here

As a general rule, we do not offer refunds. We have multiple ways for you to test Event Espresso prior to purchase and outline what we currently do and do not support.

Those two features are not part of Event Espresso and would be a customization.

We have recommended developers available on our Pro’s Page available HERE should you wish to contact these prior for an idea on cost.
