Pre-Sales: Using EE for Single Attendee Events (Individual Appointments)

Hello,

We own retail bakery that needs a single solution to allow us to schedule the following 2 types of events:

1) Classes – We offer decorating classes for multiple attendees. Clearly this is 100% doable with EE.

2) Individual Appointments – We also need the solution to support allowing clients to book 1 hour appointements for wedding tastings, consultations, etc. This can be handled well by Bookfresh, Appointy, etc, but those solutions lack the necessary Classes functionality. So.. Can EE do this. We need to be able to (easily) schedule 1 hour slots multiple days of the week. So Monday – Thursday from 10am to 5pm these appointments are available without confirmation, but after 5pm, or on Sundays we need to manually confirm the request. Also from April – October we don’t allow Thursday or Sunday appointments, so these days would have to be blocked at that time as it’s wedding season and we’re too busy on those days.

I don’t mind having to create a CSV an uploading it, I just need an elegant easy way to manage these from a single tool.

Also, can users view calendars by day/week/month, see events, and CLICK TO BOOK?

Sorry for such a long post.

Thanks, Marc

Hi Marc —

1 is absolutely doable.

2 has been done in the past but the caveat is that Event Espresso is not designed to be a booking system. You can use it as one — as many have done — but it’s not the best solution for that purpose. However, if you’re trying to do both, it may be better than using separate plugins.

If you wanted to split your classes from your bookings, I’d recommend creating separate categories for each thing, then using category-specific event lists and/or calendars to display only those events that are classes or appointments.
