I am trying to determine which (if any) version of Event Espresso can meet my client’s requirements. They have several items on their “must have” list. Here are a couple.

I have downloaded EE4 decaf plugin trying to figure some of this out and also registered for a test drive of 4, plus looked through the forums, but can’t figure some of these out.

1. They have an annual membership that is not an event. Is there any way to tweak my registration so that it doesn’t look like people are registering for a one time on site event? If so, can they print a yearly membership card after registering the same way that they can print a ticket?
2. This group also has events throughout the year that are more with what your registrations entail. I am trying to figure out how someone who registers can print a ticket to an event that I made up with the decaf plugin
3.

HI Brain,

How are you today?

First of all if you’re looking at Decaf that means you’re using EE4. Printable tickets and ticket scanning is in development but not yet available. So, if you have to have printable tickets then it’s probably best that you use EE3.

You have the general idea to tweak EE for memberships, but this will be a lot of tweaking AND you will have to utilize your gateway to handle that automatic billing. Then, at year 2 you would have to print a membership card for them manually.

I think you should look into two separate systems right now: 1) memberships, 2) Event management (e.g. Event Espresso).

Does that help?

Hi Garth,

Thanks for the quick reply. It helps very much. I want to get this project put together, but am a newbie with Event Espresso, but have heard very good things about it. Do you have a recommendation for a membership plugin that is compatible with Event Espresso? When you say year two I would have to print a membership manually, does that mean the person who registered could print their new cards themselves, or that I would have to print them myself and then email or mail them?

Thanks. I appreciate your help.

Brian

Hi Brian,

There aren’t any full integrations will any membership plugins at this time.

Event Espresso does not support recurring billing (e.g charge a card once a year automatically) at this time so your members would need to manually renew their membership again to receive their updated membership card from your organizations.

Thanks. I am trying to make sure that this all works before I buy the full plugin. Can I print membership cards with the free version to do some test runs?

Hi,

Designing membership cards is not a feature in Event Espresso. You could adjust the messaging to change it from “registrations” to be more specific for registrations. However, there isn’t a specific option to display that information in a card format.
