Hi,

From my understanding there is a way to create a post every time you create a event. Does the event page become a post or does it make a second identical page that is a post?

Also I don;t see any SEO fields at the bottom of the events page. Does Event Espresso support SEO? if so where and how?

Thanks

Jen

Hello Jen,

The events are stored as Custom Post Types, so you should be able to use one of the popular SEO plugins to setup a templates for a title and description.

Here is what it looks like in WordPress SEO settings:

Note: if you go with WP SEO, be sure to turn off the FB opengraph option as it prevents the ticket selector from loading. We do have a fix that we are testing internally.

Thanks Lorenzo,

Maybe I am not understanding what CPT are? But from the reading I have done it seems as though if you want your event to also be a post then you end up with two replicated pages on your site…. is this right?

Thanks
JEn

Hi Jen,

I believe you are concerned about duplicate content. That does not occur with Event Espresso 4. If you have a few minutes, please sign up for a test site here:

http://demoee.org

You’ll then be able to create events and explore different parts of the software.

I tried signing up for the EE test drive 4. But when I go to http://demoee.org/ and login.

It asks me to re fill out that long form that I already filled out. The one that starts with the below content. Then when I get to user name I use the one i originally filled this form out with and then it tells me that the username already exists….. should I re sign up with a different use name?

Thanks

Jen

Also with SEO, Can each event/post have unique tag, meta data attached to it? I think you said yes above but not sure…. Our SEO in WP right now was built into the buiznizz. Will that SEO capability somehow become usuable with EE4?

You can probably see that I am super new at all this! lol

Thanks
Jen

Hi,

“should I re sign up with a different use name?”

If your initial registration failed, then yes you can sign up again with a different username.

With EE4, the events are custom post types, so if you are using an SEO plugin for example, then it will add the appropriate meta data. Most SEO plugins pick up on custom post types, but you may need to check yours.

If the SEO aspects are built into the theme (I’m not sure what you mean by “built into the buiznizz”) then you may have more difficulty, depending on how it’s set up.
