Hello,

We’re having problems with 123-reg. They suspend websites if they detect a script running for over two minutes.

I’m aware that Events Espresso uses Posts for its events and pages alike. I am wondering if there is anything related to this plugin that may cause the post.php file to run for over 2 minutes. We have put max execution time and its counterparts into the HTACCES, php.ini and wp-config. Yet nothing seems to fix this issue.

We are getting the issue when in the backend(dashboard) and are editing an event. Which is why we’re led to believe this is related to the Events Espresso Plugin.

Thanks

Tony

Hi there,

2mins is a LONG time to set the timeout value to and it should not take anywhere near that value.

What package are you using on 123?

If you disable all other plugins, leaving just EE and then retest do you run into the same problem?

How many datetimes and tickets are you using?

Unless you have a lot of datetimes and tickets you should not be hitting the max_execution_time limit. Its possible there is a plugin conflict that’s causing this however I suspect this is more an issue with the server than any of your plugins (including EE).

Event Espresso is more resources heavy than many other plugins, simply because it does a lot more than most plugins. If the server you are using is under heavy load it could be taking a lot longer for the queries to complete, so EE is basically waiting for the database to finish updating and then its hitting the timeout value.
