Possibility for selectable costum fields insertion on-the-fly through dropdown

What i mean here is, is it possible eg. javascript like dropdown menues, to have a select menu where the user can choose if the user is eg. a student or teacher.

If the user chooses student, then a new subset of form fields will show.

If the user chooses teacher, then a new subset of form fields will show.

In other words, can i make the form that generic, and please tell me how πŸ™‚

best regards

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Event Espresso has no limit to the amount of ‘questions’ that can be linked to a registration form. It is therefor possible to add as many questions to the registration form as needed then hide them all with JavaScript and only display the relevant sections when the correct selections are made.

Unfortunately however this is not something Event Espresso currently supports as a feature so this would need some custom development from a developer. We have a list of recommended developers available on our Event Espresso Pro’s page if you would like to contact them.

Let us know if you have any further questions πŸ™‚

Hey Tony,

Thanks for your answer πŸ™‚

It is therefor possible to add as many questions to the registration form as needed then hide them all with JavaScript and only display the relevant sections when the correct selections are made.

So are you saying that i can do something that is a like it?

Of course i can put down a static dropdown, attact a custom Jquery script to it, and with that hide/show different form inputs. Is that what you are saying?

But this require that I myself indeed code it ?

Thanks for your time πŸ™‚

No Problem πŸ™‚

Event Espresso does not currently have the feature you are requesting.

It is possible but would require the code to be modified either by yourself or another developer.

You can assign a dropdown to the registration form, and then use jQuery to display other fields based on the selection yes, but again, this is not a current feature of Event Espresso would would require custom code. (so in other words Yes you would need to code this yourself)
