Please reset my Support License Keys

I’m getting the following messages in my EE dashboard:

Event Espresso recommends PHP version 5.4.44 or greater for optimal performance. You are currently running version 5.3.29.

Your support license key is only valid for one domain at a time, and our licensing system has detected that you are using your license key on multiple domains. Please log in to your Event Espresso account to manage your Support License Keys, or if you have concerns, please Contact Us.

You have the correct Support License Key for Event Espresso but your account only allows for automatic upgrades on one domain. Please log in to your Event Espresso account to manage your Support License Keys or purchase a support license right now.

But my PHP version is PHP 5.6.14 according to PHP Version Manager in my cPanel. Help! My site is currently not viewable in Chrome or Firefox and I think it has to do with this problem with EE.

Hi Susan,

I have reset your license key, you will receive instructions on how to re-assign it to you domain via email.

Have you recently changed to a ‘naked’ domain (no longer using www.)?

But my PHP version is PHP 5.6.14 according to PHP Version Manager in my cPanel. Help!

You can dismiss the message within the Admin, it is triggered until you dismiss it. (bottom right of the message)

If you go to Event Espresso -> Maintenance -> System Information

You can see what version of PHP Event Espresso is detecting there.

My site is currently not viewable in Chrome or Firefox and I think it has to do with this problem with EE.

This should not have anything to do with either of the above notices.

When you say the site is not viewable, do you get a whitescreen?

If so if you enable WP_DEBUG you should see an error message that will point ot what the problem is.

I have not recently (knowingly) changed to a naked domain.

The message I get is when I try to reach my site using Chrome (46.0.2490.80 m). Firefox (42.0) simply will not try to get to the site and bounces me back to the previously visited URL.

This webpage is not available

ERR_SPDY_INADEQUATE_TRANSPORT_SECURITY

Since it coincided with the last update of EE, I assume it’s related. I can still view and edit the site using Internet Explorer.

Will I get the email regarding the license key reset soon? We’re sort of concerned that most people can’t register right now.

I’m also getting this message in my WP Dashboard from EE regarding updating to the latest version of EE4:

A new version of Event Espresso is available. View What’s New with version 4.8.18.p. A valid Support License Key is needed to enable automatic upgrades. Your current account does not allow automatic upgrades on more than one domain. Please log in to your Event Espresso account to manage your Support License Keys or purchase a support license right now.

Sorry for all these updates! I do have my domain set as a naked domain without “www” but it’s always been this way, since before I installed EE4.

You should have received the email by now.

You need to go to Event Espresso -> General Settings.

Remove the key and save the settings.

Then go to your account page copy the key from there (not one of the keys ending _FREE)

Paste that into the key field and check for whitespace before/after key, then save the settings once again.

ERR_SPDY_INADEQUATE_TRANSPORT_SECURITY

Would more likely be issue at the server level rather then EE. Have you contacted your host regarding this?

If you still have access using IE try disabling EE and see if you can view the front end using Chrome.

Hi Tony,

I received the reset email, removed the key from my EE4, saved settings, added the key back again and saved. Still getting the same message. The reset key and the original key were the same number – I don’t guess that matters – but I still see the two test license keys in my account. Are they causing the problem?

When we reset a key it will stay the same key, it just removes the associated domain from the key. So that’s exepcted.

I still see the two test license keys in my account. Are they causing the problem?

No, those keys are for Event Espresso Decaf and will not interfere with other keys.

However I will assign a new key to your account, please repeat the steps and use the new key.

Woohoo! When I deactivated EE4 and then reactivated it, it accepted the key, removed the PHP warning and allowed me to update to the latest version of EE4. The deactivating of the plugin did not make the site visible on Chrome, so the viewability problem isn’t related to EE4. Thanks for your help!

Ah, in the meantime I’ve removed your key and assigned you with a new one.

Please let me know if you have problems assigning that new key to your site.
