Hello,
The person filling out the registration is usually the parent of the attendee but on the order confirmation, the top attendee is actually the parent. Can we change that line to the payee?

Hi there,
EE doesn’t easily separate out the payee from the attendee currently, it is possible to do it using custom question for the parent questions and using the system questions for the child, but you’ll need to make some changes through EE’s message templates for that to work.
Can you link me to an event I can register onto to view your current setup?

Keep in mind in a lot of cases the parent will be signing up multiple attendees – I get what you are saying about using the system to capture each attendee’s information and have a separate section for parent information and if we do that would billing still work correctly and could we change “personal information” to say “player information” somehow so the person registering would know that space was for the player?

You won’t really have the choice to separate this out for some but not others. So all registrations will essentially need to provide ‘Payee info’ and ‘attendee info’, even if they are both the same.

Yes, billing will still work.
May I ask why you think that wouldn’t work? I just want to confirm I’m not missing something above.

Sure! The question groups allow for this.
Event Espresso -> Registration Form -> Question Groups.
You can change the name fo the groups in that section.

ok so I changed that to personal information but am running into one more issue with the attendee parent thing – so the receipt emailed to the parent after registration lists the parent’s name instead of the attendee’s name – how can we change this as well as remove the missing image boxes — see attachment at the link here:

You’ve actually done this backwards to what you need to do.
You currently have the System Questions set to collect the Parent Information, meaning the parent becomes the ‘registrant’ (aka the attendee) and then the child info you are collecting using custom questions.
EE will use the registrant details everywhere within EE by default, so you need that to be the child info and then you collect the parent info using custom questions and customize the sections you need to output the parent info.
So the ‘Parent/Guardian Information’ question group (which is the default ‘Personal Information’ group renamed), that needs to collect the attendee data, the parent info needs to be collected in a custom group.
Once you get to that point we can work through the steps to alter the invoice/emails etc to go to the parent rather than child.

did you initially install Event Espresso Decaf and then switch to regular?
