PayPay Pro registration checkout problem

Hello, I have set up a Paypal business account and tried to get PayPal Pro working for an event on my website: http://www.barnsjukhusetmartina.se/events/premiar-for-martinaloppet/

I have provided the Api-details on the PayPal Pro-admin page and followed the setup instructions, but when I get to the registration checkout page and try to submit the payment I’m told that: “This registration step could not be completed. Please refresh the page and try again.”

I have done trouble shooting to the best of my ability but can’t figure it out. Your help would be much appreciated!

Hi Max-Michel,

It looks like the ajax request is returning error 500 which usually means there is a fatal error being thrown.

Can you check your servers error logs and see if there are any errors shown there?

They would normally be within a error.log, error_log or similar file on the server. If you host provides some form of control panel they may also display the errors there.

You could also try enabling WP_DEBUG on the site so we can see if the error is shown there, however usually with these errors the error will only show up in the logs.

I have scanned my server for such a file but can’t find one, unfortunately. Is there anything else I can do to troubleshoot?

Hello again, I found an old thread dealing with the same problem I seem to be having: https://eventespresso.com/topic/paypal-pro-not-taking-payments/

This query was also from Sweden where I’m located, could it have something to do with the problem?

I’m trying to find logs but have so far been unsuccessful. Can I provide you with my ftp-details in order for you to have a look on the server?

I have checked my espresso_log_db59e4e39fd3b0b4eaac29e100965848.txt and the only error logs I find read: EE_Error.core.php -> get_notices()

PayPal Pro (Website Payments Pro) isn’t working as it is available to merchants in the United Kingdom, United States, and Canada

Stripe (https://support.stripe.com/questions/is-stripe-available-in-sweden) and Braintree are available in Sweden (https://www.braintreepayments.com/country-selection).
