example.com/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/payment_methods/Paypal_Standard/lib/paypal-logo.png

tried uploading image manually over sftp, using the media library, and the default url. permission are 644. image loads fine in all cases in web browser. the espresso interface seems to think there is an error when saving changes.

cannot make any changes on
example.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_payment_settings

because Button URL field always throws an error.
“That URL seems to be broken. Please enter a valid URL”

this is a clean install on Flywheel. Version 4.8.29.p

Hi Daniel,

This is likely caused by a mis-configuration on the server related to SSL.

You can use any of the following URLs instead:

http://ee-screenshots.s3.amazonaws.com/2015/07/paypal-logo.png
http://ee-screenshots.s3.amazonaws.com/2015/07/paypal-logo-original.png
https://ee-screenshots.s3.amazonaws.com/2015/07/paypal-logo.png
https://ee-screenshots.s3.amazonaws.com/2015/07/paypal-logo-original.png

I haven’t yet set up SSL on this website, it’s going over http. Perhaps that’s the problem? In any case, I resolved it using one of your links. Thanks!

Its not that you don’t have SSL setup but that your server is responding to the HTTPS url check, then now allowing the file to load.

EE checks if the images are available via HTTPS when you save to prevent EE loading the images over HTTP when the site is using HTTPS (the browser throws an error when doing this) if the server responds with the correctly to the HTTPS check but the EE can’t load the full image, the above error happens.

I’m glad the urls worked for you, please let us know if you have any further problems.
