So I spoke to Paypal and they are telling me that they recently updated their API protocol and are now requesting the merchant login info for newer accounts to use the API. So the username, password and signature method has been depreciated and will only work for older accounts. Have you guys resolved this so we can use the new paypal API method with Event Espresso payments? I see a lot of support tickets on here about this topic but there haven’t been any resolutions posted.

Hi,

Our PayPal Pro payment gateway uses the Classic API option w/ signature set from PayPal. If you have an premier or a business account, then you should be able to create these credentials:

Lorenzo, please read my post. I have already setup all of this and gotten the Classic API credentials from paypal business account but Paypal has changed their API protocol in new paypal accounts like the one I’m using and they require a login to the merchant account now rather than using the Cert number, username and password. Please answer my question above.

We do not use a certificate number for the integration. There aren’t any plans in the near future to change from the Classic API.
