When an event has price set and I am only using PayPal, Confirm Reservation does not take the user to the paypal site, but confirms them and send them a ticket as if they have paid.

Hi Paul,

Which version of Event Espresso are you using please?

If you edit the event and look for the ‘Default Registration Status’ in the settings what does your event show?

Default Payment Status for Event: shows no change

Event Espresso – 3.1.37.4.P Version 4.2.3

Hmm, can you check within Event Espresso -> General Settings.

Then search for ‘Default Payment Status’, what is that set to?

Have you customised Event Espresso at all? Custom Gateways/Templates for example?

Using FTP if you go to /wp-content/uploads/espresso/

Look within the /templates/ and /gateways/ directories, do you have files there or are they empty?

in General Settings the Default Payment Status is set to Incomplete (Default)

There is nothing the /wp-content/uploads/espresso//templates/ folder
and there is nothing in the /wp-content/uploads/espresso//templates/gateways folder

there is a folder there called templates-2013-09-23-17-02-42 that has been files in it, such as shopping_cart.php, return_payment.php, registration_pages.php and 14 other files

Hi Paul, could you provide a link to any event on your site so we can take a look and share feedback?

One other question, was this previously working and recently stopped working?

Hi Paul, thanks for that information. You mentioned that is was working. Can you recall any recent changes to the site such as new plugin installs around the time that is stopped working?

Lorenzo, the last PayPal payment for an event was on Jun. 10, so I have confirmed it was working on that date.

As far as recent changes such as new plugins: yes I have been working on a new woocommerce store, but I had woocommerce plug-in stalled prior to Jun. 10th. I did install some new plug-ins for Woocommerce such as
WooCommerce Quantity Increment
WooCommerce Wholesale Lead Capture
WooCommerce Wholesale Order Form
Woocommerce Wholesale Prices Premium

non-Woocommerce plugin I recently installed
Wordfence Security

Hi Paul,

I followed the link that you provided and I was able to get to PayPal on the first attempt:

Do you remember if there were any caching services such as W3 total cache or WP super cache in use?

If so, could you please login to your site with an SFTP or FTP client like Cyberduck or FileZilla and then browse to this location:

/wp-content

If you see any cache_ or advanced_cache files, then please remove them from your site.

Also, I checked into Wordfence Security and it has a caching feature on it:

If it is enabled, please clear the cache through the plugin and then setup no-cache rules for your Event Espresso pages. We have a guide here with examples:

Lorenzo, thanks of the info, our wordfence cache is not enabled.

when I look in wpcontent/ there is a directory(folder) there titled cache, should I delete the entire directory?

Hi Paul, there may be some old caching options still in place. The preferred way to remove the caching would be to reactivate your prior caching plugin, then clear the cache, turn off the caching feature via the settings page for the plugin and then deactivate the caching plugin.

A fallback option would be to delete any cache_ files or folders in the wp-content folder.

Thanks Lorenzo, I have deleted the cache folder.

My event still shows the Default Payment Status for Event: as No Change.

Hi Paul,

Could you try registering in a different web browser than the one that you are currently using?

If the issue does not occur, then please let us know the web browser that you are seeing the no payment issue in so we can continue troubleshooting.

Thanks

Lorenzo
