PayPal not telling the site it has received payment

I have enabled IPN in PayPal, and set the return address as http://www.opticianstraining.co.uk/transactions

But I just did a test transaction (live not sandbox) and got a payment status of incomplete.

The money was successfully taken from the PayPal account. So it’s just the payment notification that isn’t working.

What can I try please?

Thank you Lorenzo, I worked through that list before posting here.

I just tried something and weirdly it worked. The page returned a incomplete status, then I refreshed the page and it showed a complete status.

So it’s as if the transaction confirmation from PayPal is slightly delayed.

Any thoughts on that please?

The PayPal servers may be updating the transaction page in the background after you have already arrived back on the Event Espresso thank you page.

It usually updates within a few seconds but we are working on a system to account for longer delays.
