PayPal is loading in Dutch language, should be English

We are working on a registration for a North Carolina group, in USA. For us in the studio, the PayPal link loads in as English. For our client, she is getting Dutch PayPal.

We are using EE3. Fully updated WordPress and EventEspresso.

Why is this happening? Any suggestions, ideas?

What could cause PayPal to appear in the wrong language?

Hi,

Can you provide a link so we can do a test registration please?

Are you using PayPal standard, so that the actual PayPal website is coming up in Dutch or is it Pay Pal Pro and your site’s payment form is coming up in Dutch?

Select any ticket type that costs something, it does not matter which of those is selected for this test, but it must be one that charges a fee (some of the tickets are free and without selecting a fee-based ticket you will not be sent to PayPal).

Feel free to use fake name/phone/email info. Follow the “submit” button to the payment overview page. Click on the PayPal button.

PayPal is in English for everyone I’ve had test it, but it is in Dutch for our client.

You do not need to actually pay for this ticket for me to confirm which language is coming up at the PayPal screen.

The client thinks maybe TimeWarnerCable is the culprit. Her Verizon air card access gave here the English version of PayPal.

Thanks for looking!

Hi, I also was sent to the English version of the PayPal.com site:

Are you able to duplicate this issue on your end?

No, I’ve not seen the issue personally. The client provided screenshots. It seems to only be their geographic area. The Verizon air card gives them an English version of PayPal. TimeWarner in their area is giving them the Dutch.

Weird.

Thanks for looking! Any suggestions on what / why / etc.?

Hi there,

This is from the PayPal developer documentation:

“PayPal determines the locale by using a cookie in the subscriber’s browser. If there is no PayPal cookie, the default locale is US.”

If they clear their browser’s cookies, then it should use the default locale (US). If it doesn’t, you can try contacting PayPal support.
