Think these two issues might be related. When someone registers, EE shows the status as incomplete. I have to manually change to completed and send reg confirmation email once I get an email confirmation from paypal.

Paypal has sent me a warning email:
Please check your server that handles PayPal Instant Payment Notifications (IPN). IPNs sent to the following URL(s) are failing:

If you do not recognize this URL, you may be using a service provider that is using IPN on your behalf. Please contact your service provider with the above information. If this problem continues, IPNs may be disabled for your account.

After reading through other posts, I still dont see a solution.
Please advise. Paypal images

Hi there,

If you visit this page:

http://womenscyberjutsu.com/?page_id=3573

You’ll see the ID not supplied message, which is good because that means the transactions page is configured. What isn’t good is the additional page weight and page load time that the social media buttons are adding.

You can remove this by installing the simplified transaction page template that you can download from here:

I installed the simplified transaction page and deactivated the social media plugin plus some others. My site is loading faster, but the issue is the Incomplete payment status. I also changed permissions to 777 for espresso/logs. I registered for my event and paid through paypal and EE is still showing Incomplete.

I got another email from paypal: PayPal Instant Payment Notification Disabled

Please check your server that handles PayPal Instant Payment Notification (IPN) messages. Messages sent to the following URL(s) are not being received:

http://womenscyberjutsu.com/?page_id=3573&id=180&event_id=39&attendee_action=post_payment&form_action=payment
http://womenscyberjutsu.com/?page_id=3573&id=186&event_id=39&attendee_action=post_payment&form_action=payment
http://womenscyberjutsu.com/?page_id=3573&id=185&event_id=39&attendee_action=post_payment&form_action=payment
http://womenscyberjutsu.com/?page_id=3573&id=183&event_id=39&attendee_action=post_payment&form_action=payment
http://womenscyberjutsu.com/?page_id=3573&id=187&event_id=39&attendee_action=post_payment&form_action=payment
http://womenscyberjutsu.com/?page_id=3573&id=188&event_id=39&attendee_action=post_payment&form_action=payment
http://womenscyberjutsu.com/?page_id=3573&id=182&event_id=39&attendee_action=post_payment&form_action=payment

If you do not recognize this URL, you may be using a service provider that is using IPN on your behalf. Please contact your service provider with the above information.

Once you or your service provider fix this problem, you or your service provider can resend the failed messages from the IPN History page. If this problem continues, PayPal may disable the IPN feature for your account.

Is there another fix I need to try?

Thanks.

Update: turns out one of the plugins for security was blocking paypal. Now the payments show as complete.

My only concern is the IPN notifications, which I’m not getting.

When I go to IPN history page, the transactions say “Retrying”, where the others say “Failed”.

My IPN settings are as follows. Before I didnt have any url set and the status in the IPN history was either failed or disabled. Now with the url set, its says “retrying”.

Current settings
Notification URL http://womenscyberjutsu.com/transactions/
Message delivery Enabled

Also, the confirmation emails aren’t going out once they register. Any ideas? I have to manually send them. Its the same behavior whether I use a custom or pre-existing email. My general settings are:

Send payment confirmation emails? Yes

Send registration confirmation emails before payment is received? No

Hi there,

Can you check the ipn log in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/logs for error messages? If nothing is there, then there may still be something blocking the IPN from PayPal. Are there any other security plugins active?

Another thing to check is whether cURL is installed on the server. The event espresso requirements plugin will check for this. You can download it here:
https://eventespresso.com/requirements/

I seem to be having a similar problem. When I look at my IPN History it shows all delivered. But when I go to my EE attendee list it shows the transaction incomplete. I also copied a notification URL from PayPal’s IPN details and the page on my site shows incomplete.

Another strange thing, I went through a full registration and at the end after paying instead of landing on the transaction page after a transaction, it seems to be going to the thank you page which then directs it back to paypal after 5 seconds.

I have turned off all plugins, and used the requirements plugin. This all started after this newest upgrade to WP, and EE.

Hi Lee,

I emailed you, but I wanted to follow up here.

After looking around a bit, I found that you had outdated template files in your uploads/espresso/templates directory. I renamed the templates directory so Event Espresso won’t look in the uploads directory for template files. It will use the ones in event-espresso/templates instead (which are the updated versions). We only advise moving template files to to the uploads/espresso/templates directory if you plan on modifying them. It doesn’t appear that you had done that. Issues can occur as we update the template files on occasion, and if there are outdated files in the uploads/espresso/templates directory, they may not function correctly.

I set up a test event and went through a test registration successfully. It appears that it is working correctly now.

Let me know if you have any questions.
