hi,
we want to auto redirect from paypal to a thankyou page;

http://domain.com/thank-you

after the buyer buys in paypal.

this is the EE3 shortcode we have in the thank you page

[ESPRESSO_PAYMENTS]

i have set up the redirect in paypal but…..we get a pop up error security message that seems to stop it going over to the thank you page.
once u click continue it does as it should…but we want to eliminate the pop up.
maybe it needs to encryption going from paypal back to the site? or some IPN issue?

thanks

Hi Spencer,

Does that link have https on it?

If your site does not have an SSL certificate, the please ensure that the link is using http:

http://example.com/thank-you/

the thank you page seems ok, when we click on the security pop up on paypal it goes to the correct thank you page, its just getting rid of the pop up, the link uses http not https. i dont think we need a ssl cert as the payments are handled on paypal not internally, it just seems when it goes back from paypal to the site it doent like it

Hi, this is happening over on PayPal.com after a payment is made?

If auto return is on, then it should move the registrant/attendee back to your site automatically without needing to click anything.

hi Lorenzo,

in theory yes but we get this error message, grab here;

once we click continue it goes to the sites thanks you page and all is fine.

Heres also a grab of the EE backend payment settings;

does that look correct?

also this image u sent, where is that from exactly? backend of EE?

Hi,

When you are on PayPal.com, it uses HTTPS (see the browser URL).

It presents a warning because you are moving to a HTTP site. To clear that warning, you’ll need an SSL certificate on your site:

HTTPS PayPal –> HTTPS your site

Hi Spencer,

The IPN runs on its own in the background and sends updates to a different page — the transaction page for Event Espresso.
