Our url is breakwaterschoolregistration.org. A customer had a problem with a payment on our site and I’ve replicated her registration so I can see what the problem is. I tried to register for two events: Acting for Film, Session 3 and Aftercare, Session 3. The registrations went fine but I got this weird receipt. (See link below). I can’t tell if it took my payment for both events or just the one. I chose to pay with check. I’m asking the school if the customer paid by check or CC and if by CC, if she got charged for one event or both. I’ll let you know as soon as I do. Many, many thanks for your assistance!!

Hi,

By weird receipt I assume you mean this? http://take.ms/muvKk

This is usually caused by outdated/modified templates within uploads/espresso/templates/

Or modified gateways within /uploads/espresso/gateways/

I can see you have modified templates, but do you also have modified gateways in the above directory?

To test if the templates are causing the issue with the payment_page, rename uploads/espresso/templates/ to templates-temp (or anything other than just ‘templates’) then reload the page. Is the output any different?

Hi Tony. Thank you for responding so quickly. I’m sorry I couldn’t do the same. I tried your suggestion of renaming the templates folder but doing that made me unable to proceed with my registration and enter my info. I didn’t even get to the payment page so I could check and see if the error was still there.

Also, how do I tell if my gateways have been modified? I did not build this site but took it over from someone else.

Thanks again!
Kathy

Also, the real issue is that she couldn’t use her credit card and she seems to be having this problem repeatedly…but she is the only one we know of who has trouble. I know I need to fix the first issue I wrote about but do you have any idea why this would keep happening to just one person?

Many thanks and have a good one!
Kathy

Hi Kathy,

There are many reasons she may have not been able to use her credit card. For example sometimes banks will decline a transaction if they suspect fraud. She could try another card or contact the bank that issues the card.

With the transactions not working after changing the /uploads/espresso folder names, that indicates Event Espresso core may have been customized too. The way forward on this may be to back up the files on the site, re-install a fresh copy of Event Espresso, then remove the customized files in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates. You’ll likely want to back those customized files up to another location as they may have had customizations made to them.
