Payment Plan Options

Is there anyway to implement payment plan options into event espresso? we need to have flexible payment, 25% down and paid in 3 installments thereafter. How can we implement? Is there any payment gateway? Solutions thru EE itself.

Hi there,

We don’t currently have any official support for ‘partial’ payments or payment plans etc.

There is an option to do it manually where you setup the ticket on an event to be XX amount and the user registers and pays that full amount. You then manually move them the registration onto the ‘next’ ticket and trigger a payment reminder for it (the original payment is applied towards the new ticket price owed in the transaction) and the user then pays the ‘full’ amount for that ticket, you can move them multiple times to do the above but as its all manual doesn’t really work for large scale events.

I can add more details on how to do this if it sounds like it will work for your use case?

Ok, so for easy numbers to type let’s say the full price is $100.

You have an event with say 4 tickets.

Deposit – $25 Ticket
Payment 2 – $50 Ticket
Payment 3 – $75 Ticket
Final Payment $100 Ticket

The user registers onto the Deposit ticket and pays as normal through EE.

You (the admin) then use the Attendee Mover add-on to ‘move’ their registrations from the deposit ticket onto the Payment 2 ticket and trigger notifications.

The user will not be on a $50 ticket but their transaction has a $25 payment saved, so when they click the link in the email to pay, it will show a balance due of $25. They pay in almost exactly the same way they did originally, now they have 2 x $25 payment.

You repeat this for the final 2 payments and each of the previous payments applies within the transaction again until they are fully paid.

The barcode doesn’t get created until the end right? is there a way to make sure there is no physical barcode until the last ticket is created?

Is the barcode the same for each portion? Or will there be 4 payment barcodes?

also is there a way to move customers to a new ticket in bulk?? if we sell 200 payment plan options, that would be 200 manual movements, 3 different times.

The barcode is generated for every valid registration, we don’t generate and ‘save’ a barcode, its generated on the fly using details from the registration.

Not currently, no.

You can set up the scanner so they only work if the registration is Approved, but you can’t prevent a barcode itself.

There are no ‘payment’ barcodes, the barcode links to the registration so technically there would be 4 barcodes in my example. By the end of the steps the first 3 would be for ‘cancelled’ registration and the last for the ‘Approved’ registration.
