Hello,

About the payment option.
Is it possible to pay directly with credit card using the EE3 plugin?
The sites I’ve checked out in the showcase all use Paypal instead of VISA/Mastercard.
I’d like to have as little registration/forms as possible.

How long does it take to get it working, the credit card stuff?

thanks
G

Hi Gijsbert,

Yes, there are a number of other payment options besides PayPal. Please note that any of the onsite options require that you install an SSL certificate on your website and secure the registration checkout pages.

The quickest and easiest onsite option to get working is Stripe. A good off-site option is 2Checkout. The standard PayPal option can also be configured to accept credit cards in addition to payments through a PayPal account:

Ok, thanks Josh.

With Stripe one can only receive payments in the US it says on the site, we’re in Belgium. Is there one which works here?

I would like to know: when I buy the plugin now, how many days does it take to get the payment working. Is it like straightforward or do you have to wait for accounts, have specific technical knowledge, etc.? I don’t wanna be lost for days reading and studying this.

Also: when I update: will I keep all my current events? Does it work with a code or do you need to install a new piece of software?

thanks
gijsbert

Also, do you have a test site where I can see the credit card function in action and test it with a 1 dollar payment?

I need this to convince the client the plugin is what he is looking for.
I did check four of the showcase websites, but they only show Paypal buttons. I would like to see the VISA/Mastercard option.

OK, I found the credit card example on the https://eventespresso.com/testdrive/

What does it take to get it working outside the USA?

Hi,

Stripe is now available in selected EU countries (beta) including Belgium – https://support.stripe.com/questions/what-countries-does-stripe-support

“how many days does it take to get the payment working”

Generally it works straight away out of the box, once you have added in your account details (so yes you will need an account with the payment processor before you can use that payment gateway).

“What does it take to get it working outside the USA?”

I’m not sure what you mean – are you referring to payments? If so then you will need to choose one of our gateways that works in Europe. https://eventespresso.com/features/payment-options/ (EE3 and EE4 have very different gateways so please be aware of that).

Thanks.

I’m referring to payments in Belgium, by clients all over the planet.

Well, Stripe is an international company that can take payments from anywhere in the World and will now work in Belgium – see the above link.

Other than that there may be other gateways that you could use. The list of currently supported gateways is here – https://eventespresso.com/features/payment-options/ You would need to refer to each gateway to see if they support your country of residence.
