Instead, it just produces a blank page.
With debugging turn on, it returns this error:

Hi Lee,
Can you go to Event Espresso -> System Status.
In there you’ll see your WordPress version number is it lower than 3.5.0?

Wow.
Two things: awesomely quick response. Thank you so much for that.
And secondly….way way way out of date version of WP. Sorry. Should have checked that. We’ve just taken over the site for a new client to install EE.
Thanks so much for your help! Updating WP fixed the issue (and I imagine, many others that I’m yet to come across!)
