I appear to be having some of the same issues as the person in these topics:

https://eventespresso.com/topic/paypal-works-sometimes-5050/
https://eventespresso.com/topic/paypal-ipn-delivery-still-does-not-work/

I have a person who is trying to register but seems to be having some kind of disconnect between submitting their registration and getting sent to PayPal. Their registration is showing up in the backend without payment. I am waiting to hear back from them about what their exact experience is.

I have tested it multiple times from both a browser and a smartphone without a problem.

If I use the Invoice/Payment reminder under Payment details, it should send her an email where she can go to PayPal, pay for her tickets and her status get updated in the backend, correct? She should also receive the email with the link to download tickets, right?

Hi Tony,

Is this only happening for one person? If so, it could be that they have internet connection problems.

Does your paypal account show that the transaction has been processed successfully?

Yes, if you send the email from her Payment Details, the status should update once she has successfully made the payment. If the transaction hit your Paypal account, you can mark her status as completed in the admin.

No, it’s not getting to PayPal, and I am not showing any payment there, so you may very well be right that it’s a problem on her end. At this point, she is the only person that is having this problem.

I just want to make sure that I understand the logic process behind a paid registration — Once a person fills out their information, they are taken to a page where they can confirm that the information is correct. Once they hit that button, their information is recorded in the backend as being unpaid and they are taken to PayPal, where they can submit their payment. Once that is done, they are redicted back to my site, where their payment is recorded in the backend and the email with their ticket information is generated and sent.

I think her problem, for whatever reason, is occurring when she submits confirmation of her information. I don’t think she is being sent to PayPal because we are seeing her registration in the backend, but no payment being recorded, either on our site or on PayPal. This problem has not occurred during testing or in the few registrations that we have had up to this point.

In your Paypal settings, do you have “Bypass Payment Overview Page” set to “Yes”? If so, then you have the correct logic. If not, then the users should be directed to a Payment Overview page where they select Paypal as the payment option.

I am having the same issue, which seems to have just started yesterday – and not with everyone who registers. Some people are trying to register, click to go to the checkout, and they don’t go to PayPal. They are recorded in the backend as ‘payment completed’ (with the green checkmark) even though they haven’t paid, and the payment date is given as May 11, payment amount as $0.00

Some of them have emailed us saying that they aren’t being sent through to PayPal. I have Bypass Payment Overview Page set to ‘yes’, so they should go right through.

No, I don’t have “Bypass Payment Overview Page” set to “Yes”. I forgot about that page in the process.

My problem seems to be a bit different from Michel’s My person is marked as “payment incomplete.”

Hi Tony,

Have you tried Josh’s option of using a simplified template for that page?

There’s a download link for the simplified transactions page template that you can download here:
https://eventespresso.com/topic/problems-with-incomplete-payments-download/
Installation instructions can be found in the included readme.txt file.

Dean, I haven’t tried that, but I hesitate to make any kind of changes at this point. I just have this one person with a problem trying to get paid tickets, and I am not convinced that the problem is on our end.

Hi Tony,

Yeah if its just one person, then it is likely her end not yours. I would monitor it for a while and if nothing crops up you know its not you/EE. I will marked this thread as resolved.
