Our event espresso system is accepting Registration without payment!

Our system has been accepting and approving registration without payment. I can’t figure out how or why this happened. I have screen shots, if it helps. Any ideas how this occurs? I am a bit freaked out!

Hi Eric,

What is the default registration status set to within the event?

If you edit one of your events that this is happening on, then look within the sidebar you’ll find the setting – http://take.ms/UGECC

Hi Tony,

Thanks for getting back to me. We have always had the default registration status set to approved.

We do get notification of registrations “pending payment”…and then this one that went straight to approved, even with no payment.

We have always had the default registration status set to approved.

Setting the default registration status (DRS) to Approved basically tells Event Espresso ‘regardless of the payment status for this registration it should apply to the sold values’.

It sounds like you should be using a DRS of ‘Pending Payment’, registrations that are pending payment do not apply to the event until payment is made (in which case the registration switches to Approved)

Registrations with the status of ‘Approved’ are the registrations that count towards the events ‘sold’ values.

I would recommend switching the event to Pending Payment and also check that the default setting within Event Espresso -> Events -> Default Settings -> ‘Default Registration Status’ is also set to Pending Payment.
