I’m using EE/MER to host registration for an in-person conference. We’re pretty much all set up, but I’ve found an interesting issue. The payment is by invoice only, we’re currently set up so there is not a payment confirmation email but there is a “registration confirmation emails before payment is received”. The issue is that each time I check out and test register for multiple classes, I get several registration confirmation emails. I noticed that I get a separate email for each class on the registration. I went ahead and switched to GMail’s SMTP servers with WP Mail SMTP, but that resulted in the same issue. Have you seen this issue before? I think this is related to Multiple Event Registration, but I’m not sure what I’ve done to cause this. The details: |
Hello, Try adjusting this setting to No in the Event Espresso –> General Settings –> Email Settings area: http://cl.ly/image/1R431n070Y2q — |

Hey Lorenzo, HUGE thanks for the quick reply! My only problem with changing this option to No is that I would still like user to get an email with the invoice link after they register. Can I still accomplish this somehow? |
|
Lorenzo, have you had a chance to look into this issue? I would like to send emails out for registration confirmation, but just not one email for each event in MER. Thanks! |

Hi Chris, It sounds like each class is a separate event. If that’s the case then the user will get multiple emails, one registration email and one payment confirmation email per event. There isn’t much that can be done about it barring disabling the emails (which of course is not ideal), or customising the core code. One option perhaps would be to combine multiple events into single event, and that way with MER they can pick and choose the classes they want. This will reduce the number of emails, but you might get other issues such as not being able to control class capacity. |

Dean, are you essentially saying that MER doesn’t work with email confirmation and registration? |
|
It works, but you get one email per event. We dug into trying to get it customizable to allow you to set it for one email per session, but the original code was not very flexible. That is one of the areas that was rebuilt completely in EE4. |

Hey Sidney, thanks for the info. Does this mean that MER works with EE4? |
|
Hi, As Sidney clarified, MER does indeed work with emails. There is not currently a version of MER for EE4. |
