On declined payment the error message is only displayed for split second

When I make a bad payment on purpose for a split second I see something about an error message but before I can read it, it displays the payment page again, so students don’t know what went wrong or if anything went wrong. I talked to authorize.net about this and they said its due to a setting on the website. Is this something that can be fixed in event expresso?

Hi Ted,

This is more than likely the Authnet gateway’s bypass payment page setting set to Yes. When it’s set to yes, it will bypass the payment page using a redirect. If you set it to No, they’ll have to click the button that says pay by credit card, but it will not automatically redirect them if something went wrong with the payment.

You can set this setting to No by going to Event Espresso > Payment Settings and you change the setting there and save.
