Offerings closed as "Sold Out" with registrations still available

I now have 3 offerings which have shut themselves down as “Sold out” with registrations still available. Two after the first reg, then another after the 7th. Having received no notice that they were closed but not seeing registrations come through I didn’t realize they were down and have lost a lot of revenue. When I couldn’t fix the first I created another version, which only stayed open for another single registration. Now a class which had 7 registrations so far has closed with 1 seat still available. This header message makes no sense to me “Please note that the Event Status has automatically been changed to Sold Out because more spaces have become available for this event, most likely due to abandoned transactions freeing up reserved tickets. However, this change is not permanent until you update the event. If you wish, you can change the status back to something else before updating.” Whether I duplicate, create new listings from scratch or try to modify the existing listings I can’t seem to solve this. I never had this problem with past offerings. I use Event Espresso 4 Personal/Core Event Espresso 4 on Word Press 4.7.2 and I have updated everything, but to no avail. Help!!!

Hi there,

Can you complete the secure form on this page? If so we can go in and remove the stuck reserved tickets from the event.

OK I did what I could with the access I had. It appears that there were a few registrations that were put into the trash bin and those had reserved tickets. I changed the registration status for those from Pending Payment to Cancelled, then went and clicked “Publish” for the two events, and you can register for tickets again there.

Thank you for that, although it appears one offering has still not been fixed. The April 22-23 offering should still show one registration available, but is showing sold out. Can you fix that one?
So, if I do not trash or delete any registrations (pending, abandoned or otherwise) will I avoid this situation in the future?
THanks for your help.Jaana

I can fix the April 22-23 offering if you can get the FTP access from your hosting company and forward that information via the secure form on this page:

You can avoid the situation in the future by first setting the undesired registration status to Cancelled. After you set the registration’s status to Cancelled, the reservation will be cancelled and you can move the registration to the Trash.

Update: Event Espresso 4.9.32.p, which was released today, adds a button to the Maintenance > Reset page: Reset Ticket and Datetime Reserved Counts. You can click that button and it will reset the ticket reservation counts if you’re still seeing events incorrectly marked as sold out.
