Authorize.net error

We have been using Authorize.net gateway with Event Espresso for over a year with no problems. Now, when I installed the most recent version of EE 3.1.30.7.P, we get an error message. I was on the phone for about an hour with customer service at Authorize.net and tried everything they could think of, but no success. There seems to be a disconnect between Event Espresso and Authorize. I am using WordPress 3.5.1.

Our registration page is http://www.awcdsm.org/wp/event-registration/?ee=20

Another clue might be that I didn’t realize our license had expired and recently renewed it. On my account page it says I have renewed in one box, but shows my license as inactive in another box.

This is the error I get when trying to use the onsite (AIM) version of Authorize.net on your site:

The merchant login ID or password is invalid or the account is inactive.

Can you check your /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways directory and make sure there isn’t anything in there? If that’s empty, can you check your Authorize.net settings in the Payment Settings page and make sure you have the right user info there? Also, usually you won’t be using both onsite (AIM) and offsite (SIM), however both methods are active on your site.

I checked and the gateways folder is empty. My Payment settings are also correct. I went over those with Authorize support. We only use onsite (AIM).

Hi there,

If you’re not using the SIM method, then you can deactivate that option, otherwise people may try to pay using the SIM method.

This is the error message we are seeing when we try to checkout on your site:

Attention: your transaction was declined for the following reason(s):
The merchant login ID or password is invalid or the account is inactive.
Response Code: 3
Response Subcode: 2

This indicates that the your site running Event Espresso and the servers Authorize.net are communicating, but the errors indicate that something is not correct with the login ID, password, or account. It may be that you have the correct information entered, but if the testing option is turned on it will be sending the account information to the testing servers.

You can also verify that the account isn’t set to test mode as well.

I deactivated the SIM and tried to register. My card was approved! Hooray! Thanks for the help!
