We’re still having an issue with EE not sending event descriptions to Authorize.net. I first asked about this is almost 7 months ago and was told it would be fixed in upcoming updates to EE.

Is there anything we can do on our end to address this issue? Are you able to fix this?

We’re using the most recent versions of EE and WP.

For reference, here are links to my first post and two pots I’ve found from people having similar issues.

Hi Carina,

The current version of Event Espresso sends the event name, attendee name, and the price option to Authorize.net in the description field.

In this thread:

https://eventespresso.com/topic/authorize-net-missing-description-data/

they were using an older version of the Event Espresso gateway that had been customized and it had not been updated to include the description field.

I think there may be confusion about what is actually getting pulled from the description field. It’s not the event description, it’s the event’s name, the price option, and the attendee name.

Here is a screenshot that shows an example receipt from Authorize.net showing what’s in the description field:

If the description fields are blank for your transactions, there may be an older copy of the Authorize.net gateway in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways that can be removed so the newer version will not be overridden.

Josh,

I do understand what should be getting pulled and that info is what I’m after. The problem is that its not coming through.

I’ve check the folder you suggested and its empty. Any other ideas?

Are you seeing a line item for each attendee in the transaction in your authnet account with the attendee name and the event name?

No line items come up in Authorize.net.  The only info I have is the transaction ID.

Are you using the Multiple Event Registration add-on?

Yes

Sorry, I’m not seeing anything in the code that would indicate where the problem is. Can you send in login info here: https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/ (please include ftp login info) so we can do some further troubleshooting? Thanks.

I captured the post variables being sent to Authorize.net and the line item info is definitely in there. I tested it on my server with the same event name and description as one of your events, and I can see the itemized info in my Authorize.net account. When you pull up the Details for the transaction in your account, there should be a link under the Order information section that says “show itemized order information”.
