New SHA2 based SSL certificate from BeanStream

Hi,

I use Beanstream on my website to process credit card payment. My current eventespresso version on my website is Version 3.1.36.4.P. I’m using WordPress 3.8.4 version.

I understand the newest version available now is version 3.1.36.6.P. But I have not updated it yet, and do not plan to do that any time soon due to the huge efforts on my side.

BeanStream has notified me that they are going to use new SHA2 based SSL certificate, and support for SHA1 based SSL certificates will not be available after Nov. 17, 2014.

Here is the link to my registration page; http://superexcel.ca/register-the-full-course/

Please help me to understand, would this affect me? Would I be OK with my current version Eventespresso? If not, what are the options for me to take?

Thanks for your help.

Steve

Hi Steve,

An SSL in on the server level which is above the WordPress install.

Event Espresso is a plugin for WordPress and doesn’t require a specific brand of SSL certificate. However, it should be a dedicated SSL certificate and not a shared one.
