New Feature Request for EE4 – reconfirm PayPal payments

Every time I run a big event, ~1% of my PayPal payments somehow don’t receive the IPN back, leaving those in a PAYMENT PENDING suspended animation state. PayPal says that’s my server’s fault, my server thinks PayPal never sent it…. I can tediously go thru PayPal records and handle it manually *ugh* – be nicer if EE4 would try to request the IPN again after a hour or a day or something.

Hi Michael,

This is an interesting idea and I definitely see how it could be helpful in terms of something that runs behind the scenes to check on the IPN.

I’ll start a discussion about this.

In the longer term, we do have PayPal Express on our new payment gateways list which does not rely on the IPN.

Great! This would be a high priority for me – standing in the lobby of a venue with a client waving a PayPal receipt at me when I think they are PAYMENT PENDING is really no fun.
