I want to have private events locked with a password. That works fine, but the event and it’s description is displayed in the calendar-widget. On top of that it is possible to download an iCal-Event containing the whole description for the event, that is password-protected.
If I can enable a password protection for the events detail site, it shouldn’t be possible to access this description via calendar or iCal events. That makes no sense.
So do you have the event set to Private or is it set to Password Protected? May I ask where the ical download link is displaying before a password is entered?
I have tried to set the event to private, but then our users have to register in our wordpress. We want to keep access to our protected events as easy as possible.
Thanks for taking the time to leave this valuable feedback. I’ve registered your suggestions and we will keep them in mind for future updates of Event Espresso and its calendar! I will also update this thread when new versions are available that include your suggestions.
Update: The issue you reported with the Calendar tooltip displaying password protected content is fixed in the latest update of the Calendar add-on (v.3.2.7).
