Mysql queries EventEspresso and Firewall

We are having a problem that we believe started following the EE update to 4.8.39p. But that may have been coincidental. Our tech support says the ssh/sftp is not working and it appears MySQL queries are getting stuck trying to retrieve the massive ee_locked_transactions row (2.4 MB). Does this need to be 2.4 MB in size? Is this a known EE problem? Other explanation? Whatever is happening, it ground the server to a halt and the ISP had to disable our site because there are other sites on the same server.

Hi there,

The ee_locked_transactions row shouldn’t get anywhere near that big under normal circumstances. You can delete the option row entirely, then EE4 will re-add the row later.

Then, it may help to prevent further junk locked transactions if you can install a bot trap, like this plugin:

Thanks, Josh. We will try this and see how it works.
