My site was upgraded by another administrator – it’s still in maintenance mode, as i have not yet migrated my data. It’s showing Espresso Decaf int he list of plugins, which I thought was the free version? Yet I have a paid license for 3 – does my license include the upgrade to 4? If so, why would “decaf” be showing instead of the licensed version? Is it too late to downgrade to 3 or still possible since i haven’t moved my data over? Help! thanks Liz

Hi Elizabeth,
Here are the steps to restore your site:
1) Restore from a WordPress backup (if available)
or
2) Deactivate and remove Event Espresso. Then download the latest version of Event Espresso 3 from your Event Espresso account. Then re-install and activate through WP Plugins.

Thanks Lorenzo – if I remove the new Event Espresso and reinstall the old version, will all my data/events will remain intact?

Yes. After you reactivate EE 3.1.37, you will need to check and update your Event Espresso short codes and page settings as outlined in this guide:

ok – sounds doable. thank you for your help. as soon as this event is complete, i will work on upgrading to 4. Is that included in our current license??

Hi Elizabeth,
Event Espresso 3 licenses automatically include access to Event Espresso 4. Before updating to Event Espresso 4, please note that not all of the features in EE3 are available in EE4. For example, promo codes, WP User Integration, and the API for the ticketing apps are not compatible with Event Espresso 4.
If you can let us know which plugins and features you use with Event Espresso 3, we can tell you if Event Espresso 4 will currently fit your needs.
