Multiple Tax Rates with only One per Ticket

Hello,

I am having issues setting up my EE4 events where they can have multiple tax rates based on the tickets for events with multiple dates and cities.

My desired setup is as follows using Multi-Event:
1. Create Event A with multiple ticket options
2. Create one-to-one Datetime-Ticket setup so that I can have:
January 31 – Toronto – $800 + applicable tax (13%)
April 30 – Vancouver – $800 + applicable tax (12%)
October 12 – Regina – $800 + applicable tax (5%)
3. Shows Base Price with dropdowns for each
4. Shows Base Price in Cart Summary with each tax type subtotalled and broken out in the subtotal/total pricing lines.

Here are my questions:
1. Is there a way to show a total of all Price modifiers as a subtotal of the whole order?
2. Is there a way to associate a specific Regional Tax rate to a specific ticket and then a different one to another?

A solution to either of these two questions would get me to a good place since I’m open to using percent price modifiers or regional taxes based on what you think makes the most sense in EE4.

Thanks for any help on this.

Hi Matt,

Since regional taxes rates for a specific ticket are not possible with Event Espresso 4 then you’ll need to go with the price modifier option. The price modifiers are displayed as line items in the ticket details section (click on the +show details link in the ticket selector table) and they’re also displayed on the payment options step.

Hi Josh,

Thanks for your response. That’s not exactly what I want to achieve – or at least it’s not what is happening.

First, I’ve removed the “+show details” option and used code from an earlier thread to show only the Base Price (thanks for that one, btw) because I felt it was too confusing for my users with up to six different tickets to also have to expand-collapse that.

Unfortunately, on the Cart page, it now shows the Base Price + Modifier as one number, then it subtotals the same number again. This is confusing because I changed to show the Base Price on the previous page.

Is there away for it to display as follows:

Ticket: January 31 – Toronto $800 (qty and remove buttons)
Subtotal: $800
HST 13% (this is the price modifier): $104

Ticket: April 30 – Vancouver $800 (qty and remove buttons)
Subtotal: $800
HST 12% (this is the price modifier): $96

Ticket: October 12 – Regina $800 (qty and remove buttons)
Subtotal: $800
HST 5% (this is the price modifier): $40

Total: $2640 (Sum of all Tickets + Price Modifiers)

*****OR*****

Ticket: January 31 – Toronto $800 (qty and remove buttons)
Ticket: April 30 – Vancouver $800 (qty and remove buttons)
Ticket: October 12 – Regina $800 (qty and remove buttons)
Subtotal: $2400
HST 13% (this is the price modifier): $104
HST 12% (this is the price modifier): $96
HST 5% (this is the price modifier): $40
Total: $2640 (Sum of all Tickets + Price Modifiers)

Thanks for your help.
Matt

Hi Matt,

That’s going to involve some significant refactoring of the templates involved with the cart and the checkout pages. This level of customization is not supported. One of the developers listed here may be able to give you a quote to build out custom cart and checkout display templates to your specifications.
