Multiple Dates/Recurring Events

I bought EE4 thinking I could setup Multiple (recurring) Dates for tours/events that occur once a week. There are 3 different tours that operate once a week and I would like a visitor to be able to choose a date and tour. When I setup the event and enter in the dates, the single event page doesn’t allow for the visitor to pick a date. It only lists the dates, so if a visitor registers, how do they know what day they are going and how would I know what date they booked?

Also, is there a way to setup recurring tours/events? I went with EE4 since it seems EE3 will eventually be phased out, but it does not have the capability of setting up recurring events.

What is the best way to accomplish this?

Hi there,

Currently EE4 does not support recurring events, it is possible to do but depends on how you want to display the event. With EE4 tickets allow access to datetimes, this can be a single datetime or multiple datetimes.

So to answer this:

It only lists the dates, so if a visitor registers, how do they know what day they are going and how would I know what date they booked?

Currently you would need to create a ticket for each datetime which will be displayed within the ticket selector. So if you have Datetime 1 – 4, you would have 4 tickets, 1 for each datetime that the user can register onto.

The more datetimes you add the more tickets you would need to add so that a specific ticket can be selected and registered onto.

Does that make sense?

So if you wanted a single event recurring 1 a week, you would need 52 datetimes and 52 tickets. The user selects the ticket does the datetime they wish to register onto.

Also, is there a way to setup recurring tours/events? I went with EE4 since it seems EE3 will eventually be phased out, but it does not have the capability of setting up recurring events.

With EE3 you can use the Recurring Events Manager to create single ‘instances’ of an event, so each date/time would then need to be its own individual event for the user to register onto.

With both options there currently is no option to select the event, select the datetime then select the ticket and register onto that specific date. You can do that using the Calendar or list veiws but I don’t think that’s what your expecting.
