Multiple attendee drop down not allowing more than 1 attendee

I’m not sure if this is as a result of upgrading to the latest MER plugin but it has only recently stopped working.

When I set an event to allow group registrations, it is not reflected on the cart page. The drop down is available and functioning correctly but only gives the option of 1 attendee.

I’ve deleted and remade the event to no avail. There are no js errors on the page and everything else seems to be working correctly.

Is this a known issue?

Thanks.

Hello Helen,

It is not a known issue. The default group number is 5, (see bottom of image http://d.pr/i/92IY) so has this been changed in your settings?

Have sent a response but it is not appearing. It seems it’s there somewhere because it won’t let me send it again!

It seems anchor tags are making my posts disappear so here it is without the tags:

Here are the settings I have made http://mocku.ps/2e3prs and this shows the result I am getting on the shopping cart page http://mocku.ps/k9gwi3

These are the same settings I have had before and it worked fine in the past.

Looks like a delayed post, might have been the spam filters so sorry about that.

It’s very odd as the settings look correct. Any chance of a link to the site so we can rule out javascript errors?

Hi Helen,

We updated the forums to use the latest version of BBPress and it turns out that BBPress will queue any replies that contain the a tag into pending. We need to figure out what’s causing it and patch our site so replies with a tags are automatically published again.

Since the issue with the dropdown started happening only after an update, it might help to check to see if there is an older copy of shopping_cart.php in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates. Also, we can investigate further if you can post a link to the event.

Thanks for the quick responses. Here’s a link to the event. http://shoutkey.com/cosmonaut I can send login details privately if required.

Hi Helen,

Which of the events listed there have the Max group registrations set to 5?

Also, I checked and the shopping_cart.php template is listed in the html comments in the footer as one template that has been copied over to /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates. It’s possible that if any modifications were made to the shopping cart template it could alter the default behavior that allows for group registration, so I’d check to see what happens when you load up a stock shopping_cart.php template just in case.

Hi Josh,

It’s a recurring event, so they will all have a max of 5 set. I’ve removed shopping_cart.php from the templates folder and the issue still remains.

Is it possible to get your login details in order to look into this?

If so, please send them via https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

NOTE: login details need to be Admin level.

Hi Helen,

I took a look at the site and made a test event (now deleted). The basic events are not viewable properly, and I believe this is definitely a result of the modifications made to the site. As such I also believe that the modifications are affecting the drop down menu with the ticket numbers.

You can test this by temporarily renaming the uploads/espresso/templates directory to old_templates or something other than templates. This will force the plugin to use the default non customised templates.

As Josh mentioned it is likely to be coming from the shopping_cart.php template.

Hi Dean,

Thanks for taking a look. I have now renamed the templates folder so that none of my custom files are being included but the issue still persists.

Hi,

Thanks for testing with the templates off.

What I dont fully understand is why with the templates turned off, is the default event registration template not showing? Has the core template been modified as my test event did not show up in the event list, yet the shortcode is default.

There are some overrides in the CSS which may make the default template appear differently. They wouldn’t be affecting the number of attendees in the drop down list I don’t imagine.

Hi,

Thank you, perhaps I missed the events as I can see them now.

Do you know why the event registration URL is yoursite.com/index.php/registration, where does the index.php come into play?

Is it possible for you to send us FTP details I need to do some local testing with your files as I cannot recreate this issue with the default plugin.

Hi,

I have, with the help of a colleague managed to fix the issue. It seems that the issue was caused a while back when I installed the EE 4.0 BETA for evaluation. I believe that there are some upgrades/changes to the database which did not get removed/reverted when I rolled back to the stable version. By manually deleting the database and reinstalling the plugin, the issue has been resolved.

Many thanks for your help.
