Multi-Day events break when they span a weekend

We have weekend events, and I set my first day of the week to Monday to fix this last year.
On a regular basis, the calendar resets to Sunday as the first day of the week and breaks the events again.
I logged in last week, changed the first day to Monday, saved it and confirmed it was working.
Today, it was back to Sunday as the start of the week again. We are running the most current versions of WordPress, Expresso and Expresso calendar.
Does anyone have a solution?

Hi there,

How often is the calendar config resetting? Weekly?

Do you have any security plugins or something else which runs on say a weekly task?

The Calendar resetting the days suggests the config is being reset, but that is stored within the database so I’m wondering if there is some kind of scan happening on the database which is wiping the values.

Is it only the calendar settings that reset?

We are actually beginning to suspect that it resets when we create new events. We don’t anything that modifies the database that runs weekly, and the change doesn’t seem to Halen on a specific schedule. I fixed it on the 5th, the 15th it was changed again. It only changed the calendar setting for the first day of the week.
Is there a fix for the initial issue yet?

OK – I have not made any changes since the 15th.
As of this morning, the calendar is still correct with Monday as the start of the week.

I opened an event and just clicked update to see if that made any difference – calendar still has Monday as the start date.

I added a Test Event to see if that caused an issue, no problem – I deleted the event and still no issues.

I’m baffled. I am trying to check it each day to see if there is any change and catch what is triggering the issue.

The best solution would be a resolution to the actual bug which is multi-day events that span the end of the week as my solution of using Monday as the start of the week is only a band-aid and doesn’t work if the event runs into Monday.

My topic was closed to replies, but I never got any answers on whether this is fixable:

We have confirmed that any time we create a new event, it resets the calendar week to start on Sunday and breaks the calendar again. We have to reset to a week start of Monday after any updates to ensure that the calendar still works.

Is there any resolution other than going back to an old Java version?
Is there a way to import the Event Expresso events to a Google Calendar to bypass the issue altogether?

Hi there,

My apologies for your thread closing, support slows during the holidays and your thread automatically closed. I’ve re-opened it and merged your latest thread into it.

We have confirmed that any time we create a new event, it resets the calendar week to start on Sunday and breaks the calendar again. We have to reset to a week start of Monday after any updates to ensure that the calendar still works.

This is something I can’t reproduce and in your previous reply it appeared this wasn’t the case, do you have any more details on it?

Is there any resolution other than going back to an old Java version?

Not currently, the issue is with the library used in to generate the calendar it will need to be rewritten to work with the later versions.

Is there a way to import the Event Expresso events to a Google Calendar to bypass the issue altogether?

I’m not sure I follow, you want to import them into a google calendar to display on the site? How would EE interact with the calendar then?

The problem resets any time we add a new event. It doesn’t happen is there are no new events added.

We don’t have any security plug-ins that are causing the issue as far as we can tell.

We would use the Google calendar to replace your calendar interface. The thought is to have the Google event link to the Event Expresso registration page, just as it does from your calendar. This would eliminate the layout issues. We just don’t want to have to enter them on a second calendar.
