When I try to mofify the price, and there are already bookings I have to Copy the ticket and archive (delete) the old ticket. Will the old reservation stay in the system or delete then as well? Or shall I make this “old” ticket not visible for users in the front end anymore and copy a new ticket with the new price?

Hi there,

When I try to mofify the price, and there are already bookings I have to Copy the ticket and archive (delete) the old ticket.

Archiving and deleting a ticket, are not the same thing. Deleting a ticket removes it and archiving a ticket sets it aside for reference.

Archiving the original ticket is the correct step here.

To explain, when you create a registration it has a relationship to the ticket it is assigned to, the registration is related to the ticket and the price set (and other settings) are then related to the ticket itself. If EE allowed you to change the ticket price on the original ticket, the relationship for the ‘older’ registrations would then still be there but the price would have been updated and so would show incorrectly within the registration/transaction. So we archive the original ticket and create a new ‘copy’ of that ticket for future registrations to continue registering onto.

Will the old reservation stay in the system or delete then as well?

The registration will stay if the ticket is archived.

Or shall I make this “old” ticket not visible for users in the front end anymore and copy a new ticket with the new price?

That’s what archiving the ticket ticket does automatically.

What would the best workflow here? Thanks again for your help.

Using the advanced editor?

When you edit the price it should show a dialog to archive the ticket and create a new one for you.
